Free diapers for Houston families: community drive set for Saturday in Acres Homes

Posted

As families continue to navigate the rising cost of everyday necessities, two Houston City Council members are teaming up with community organizations to help ease the financial burden.

Council Members Edward Pollard and Tarsha Jackson are partnering with Hugs & Diapers, the Houston Health Department and the Texas Diaper Bank to host a community diaper drive this weekend, offering free baby and adult diapers and other essential items to Houston-area families.

The distribution is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. until supplies run out at the Acres Homes Multi-Service Center, located at 6719 W. Montgomery Road.

The event builds on Pollard’s previous partnership with Hugs & Diapers, which has worked to help families struggling to afford everyday necessities. This latest effort expands that outreach through a joint partnership with Jackson and additional community organizations.

Organizers say diapers and other essential items will be distributed free of charge while supplies last. Residents in need of diapers and other essential supplies are encouraged to attend.
